Maaravi Studios is a podcast studio that specializes in scripted, edited non-fiction podcasts. We love distilling the obscure, finding hidden angles of looking at the world, and making the unseen heard. From daily talk shows to limited run series, we work on each stage of production - ideation, scriptwriting, field recording, production, editing, post-production, translation, etc. Clients include Sports Politika, Tablet Magazine, This American Life, Israel Story, and more.Maaravi Studios was founded by Elie Bleier. He likes writing. And telling stories. And working with people he doesn't necessarily agree with about everything.
In The Red Corner
A three-part audio series about the controversial alliance between Donald Trump and the UFC. Created with multiple-time MMA Journalist of the Year nominee Karim Zidan.
In The Red Corner has been featured in NPR, The Guardian, and more. Check out the entire series at Sports Politika or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Production
Led production on The Testimonies Archive, a Tablet Magazine initiative about October 7th and its aftermath, in collaboration with the USC Shoah Foundation. Includes first-hand testimonies from survivors of the attack, original on-the-ground reporting from the Gaza border, and a mini-series produced together with former NPR podcast host Doug Fraser.
Produced original segements such as "The Archive", a seven-part series on Tablet Magazine's flagship Unorthodox podcast. In collaboration with the National Library of Israel, each episode explored the story behind one of the library's artifacts, like the hidden history of Kafka's manuscripts.
Launched and produced multiple seasons of itrek's storymark, a podcast about leaders and the moments that make them. Think How I Built This with an Israeli twist. Created the show structure, worked with host Gil Galanos on tasks like guest prep and narration tracking, handled all stages of the editing process, and helped interview guests like the man who almost created an Israeli constitution, Uriel Reichmann.
Provided (some minor) services for TAL. Also worked as a Producer for Israel Story, once refered to by TAL founder Ira Glass as "the Israeli TAL". This means, obviously, that Glass is a big fan of Maaravi Studios.
